NotMyFault Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 We have numerous bug reports, all rejected by Affinify, concerning forced dithering of gradients. While it can be deactivated in performance settings for rendering inside the app, it cannot be deactivated for export. Please make dithering of gradients optional, both for rendering inside App and Export. let the user choose his preset globally in preferences, and individually for each document color format. E.g. Use might opt-in for RGB/8, but opt out for RGB/16 and all others. The setting must be the stored for every document individually. New documents inherit default from global preferences, but allow to change at any time later. Ideally, the setting should be editable per layer (inherit, off, on), similar to anti-aliasing. This must apply to any gradient, no matter if gradient tool, fill tool, layer FX, transparency tool is used. https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/search/&q=Forced dithering&quick=1 ronnyb and loukash 2 Quote Mac mini M1 A2348 | MBP M3 Windows 11 - AMD Ryzen 9 5900x - 32 GB RAM - Nvidia GTX 1080 LG34WK950U-W, calibrated to DCI-P3 with LG Calibration Studio / Spider 5 | Dell 27“ 4K iPad Air Gen 5 (2022) A2589 Special interest into procedural texture filter, edit alpha channel, RGB/16 and RGB/32 color formats, stacking, finding root causes for misbehaving files, finding creative solutions for unsolvable tasks, finding bugs in Apps.
