Hi, Please can I get help? Two of my shapes, created in Affinity designer are exporting rasterized. I have tried every recommendation possible, and still can't get it right. I am exporting to pdf print. Please can I get some help. Have attached image below. It's the pink and yellow. You'll not the blue and purple is perfect that does not have a gradient colour in.

Welcome to the forum, @Chantz

We would need the follow to help:

  • Upload of the actual designer  file. You may copy/paste into a new file only those 3 layers.
  • Screenshot of export settings used
  • a copy of the exported pdf

Possible causes:

  1. any layer fx applied to the shapes?
  2. any blend modes changed from normal ?

Those changes may cause rasterization even from other layers in the same file, e.g. a text layer with layer fx above those vector layers.

Hello @Chantz, and welcome to the forums.

Please note that if you use F/X Gradient Overlay, the gradient will always be rasterized when exported (as will other F/X effects, as well). So try to use the Gradient Tool, instead.

Note too that if you have transparencies involved (including blend modes), and the PDF export method does not allow transparencies (e.g., when exporting to PDF/X-1a or PDF/X-3), the transparencies will be flattened by using rasterization.

Hello,

Thank you for replying.

Can I just upload the whole file, it isn't big? Export settings, I have tried so many from troubleshooting I am not sure which ones to show you?

However I need it in a print-ready pdf file. I can upload the pdf too, please let me know if I can do it below,.

Thanks

Yes, please upload the files.

we need a screenshot of the export UI in the state just before you click „ok“, so we can see which options and settings you made in that moment
