Chantz Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 Hi, Please can I get help? Two of my shapes, created in Affinity designer are exporting rasterized. I have tried every recommendation possible, and still can't get it right. I am exporting to pdf print. Please can I get some help. Have attached image below. It's the pink and yellow. You'll not the blue and purple is perfect that does not have a gradient colour in. Quote
NotMyFault Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 Welcome to the forum, @Chantz. We would need the follow to help: Upload of the actual designer file. You may copy/paste into a new file only those 3 layers. Screenshot of export settings used a copy of the exported pdf Possible causes: any layer fx applied to the shapes? any blend modes changed from normal ? Those changes may cause rasterization even from other layers in the same file, e.g. a text layer with layer fx above those vector layers. lacerto Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 Hello @Chantz, and welcome to the forums. Please note that if you use F/X Gradient Overlay, the gradient will always be rasterized when exported (as will other F/X effects, as well). So try to use the Gradient Tool, instead. Note too that if you have transparencies involved (including blend modes), and the PDF export method does not allow transparencies (e.g., when exporting to PDF/X-1a or PDF/X-3), the transparencies will be flattened by using rasterization. Chantz Posted December 2, 2024 Author Posted December 2, 2024 Hello, Thank you for replying. Can I just upload the whole file, it isn't big? Export settings, I have tried so many from troubleshooting I am not sure which ones to show you? However I need it in a print-ready pdf file. I can upload the pdf too, please let me know if I can do it below,. Thanks Quote
NotMyFault Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 Yes, please upload the files. we need a screenshot of the export UI in the state just before you click „ok“, so we can see which options and settings you made in that moment Quote Mac mini M1 A2348 | MBP M3 Windows 11 - AMD Ryzen 9 5900x - 32 GB RAM - Nvidia GTX 1080 LG34WK950U-W, calibrated to DCI-P3 with LG Calibration Studio / Spider 5 | Dell 27“ 4K iPad Air Gen 5 (2022) A2589 Special interest into procedural texture filter, edit alpha channel, RGB/16 and RGB/32 color formats, stacking, finding root causes for misbehaving files, finding creative solutions for unsolvable tasks, finding bugs in Apps. Chantz Posted December 2, 2024 Author Posted December 2, 2024 Please see files attached 1. I have done an export where I remove no rasterise which then removes the gradient in the pdf - labeled as such in the attached 2. I have done an export where I don't do any changes, then the gradient images are pixelatted. Export no changes to settings.pdf Export with no rasterize on.pdf ps_ph_businesscard.afdesign Quote

Chantz Posted December 2, 2024 Author Posted December 2, 2024 Thank you where is the gradient tool? Quote
DuncanL Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 It may be inside\under the Transparency tool if you used that last. Quote
