I think it would be enough if when applying Space Horizontally/Vertically with selected key object, the “Align to” field would be active and there would be an option to select “Key object” → Then it should be possible to deselect the Auto Distribute checkbox and select the distribution distance from the key object.

Both of these issues are known to Serif as they were raised several times during beta testing and after release, namely:

  • You can't uncheck the Auto distribute checkbox and use your own custom spacing value for distribution when using the Key Object.
  • The Align to drop-down menu doesn't have an entry called Key Object, and in order for the Key Object to be considered when doing alignments you have to select First selected from the drop-down which is very un-intuitive.

Let's hope they improve it and make it more intuitive and user-friendly.

Yes, that would be really cool. Now this functionality is very lacking.
