I saw on threads someone was having an issue with the gradient tool inside the develop persona. At first it looked like normal behaviour to me, but upon checking myself, It is indeed far from normal. It does not gradually fall off, there is an extremely hard edge to it, even if you drag the gradient way off image, it still has a hard edge. It's like a rectangle, ellipse or radial shape with a Gaussian blur on the edge is applied, and not a true gradient.
Screenshot shows an extreme adjustment. Definitely *not* how it used to be in AfPhoto 1. I'd expect to see this line if a very short gradient were used, not when it extends 2x higher than the image itself. It's even present at 5-6x higher.

I've attached a LR linear gradient to show expected performance and this is starting just at the top of the image, not 2x-6x higher than it.

I see the same issue. Probably wrong gamma handling of gradient overlay.

better visible for

  1. a test document with a left to right gradient as pixel layer,
  2. then enter develop persona
  3. add an overlay in y axis from 1/3 to 2/3
  4. exposure adjustment +5

expected: brightness should change linearly

observed: brightness changes exponentially

For comparison, in Photo Persona a gradient overlay on exposure adjustment

On Desktop, you can use the 32-bit preview in Develop Persona. Try to switch between icc managed or not, and gamma 1.0 or 2.2
