Welcome to Affinity Forums :)

Affinity software doesn’t support Fireworks's editable .PNGs. The specification for the embedded layer data is not part of the official PNG spec and was never made public by Adobe (so it’s specific to Fireworks). Neither us or any other software company are able to offer support for it unless Adobe turn its spec public.

 

Maybe you should consider remove the gmail part from your forum username otherwise you may start receiving a lot of mail from spammers.

The best way I found to keep layers from Fireworks files:

 

- On Fireworks save the file with .psd format.

- Open the file on Affinity Designer.

 

It will keep the same layers structure as original file, as well as objects, effects like shadows,...
