Tanner Stevenson Posted October 2, 2024 Posted October 2, 2024 Every time I try to copy the figure from the attached file to a powerpoint slide, Affinity Designer 2.5.5 freezes. Also, when trying to export, the preview will not load, which tells me there is an issue with rendering some feature in this figure. I suspect that it may be the vector cropping as that is the only thing that is different in this figure then other ones where copy/paste works successfully. PL_cue_reward2.afdesign
Old Bruce Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 Could be that two of the curves (the green lines) have an unreasonable number of nodes. I would delete them and duplicate the lines and give the lower one a thicker stroke instead of whatever you did here. An alternative would be to use the Appearance panel to give one line two strokes but if your end product is a clipboard to Powerpoint slide then I don't know if that would work. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
Komatös Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 Hello @Tanner Stevenson and welcome to the forums. I cannot reproduce the bug in my system, as I can export your diagram without any problems. And copying from Designer and pasting into PowerPoint also works. To do this, select the entire group and press ctrl+c. Switch to PowerPoint and press ctrl+v If you want to export the file as SVG with Affinity Designer, you can press the export button immediately without the preview being rendered. Rendering also takes forever for me, this is caused by the high number of nodes. If possible, you should reduce the number of nodes. Regarding the freezing of Affinity Designer, the specs of your system would be interesting. In particular, the amount of RAM, CPU and GPU installed. Tanner Stevenson Posted October 7, 2024 Author Posted October 7, 2024 So I was thinking the large number of nodes on the curves could be the reason, but this other file has way more curves, each with the same excessive amount of nodes and I can copy it just fine. As for my computer specs, I have 16 GB RAM and i7 processor running Windows 11. cue_reward_reward_hist_3_back_z_dff_iso_PL.afdesign
