spodzone Posted September 24, 2024 Posted September 24, 2024 Affinity Photo v2.5.5 macOS Sequoia 15.0 (24A335) on a Macbook Air M2. iPhone 16 Pro set to 24MP, ProRAW Max which is JPEG-XL wrapped in a DNG container. The DNG looks good in Apple Preview, digiKam and Pixelmator Pro. In Affinity, it opens with a profile resulting in obvious overexposure. See screenshot comparing the two (Affinity behind/right). By eyeball, if I drop the exposure -1EV, contrast +4% and saturation +25%, it looks almost identical to Preview. IMG_7034.DNG Quote
Hangman Posted September 24, 2024 Posted September 24, 2024 Hi @spodzone, I got better initial results when opening the DNG file with the following settings but I still needed to adjust the Blackpoint slider to around 15%... Staff MEB Posted September 24, 2024 Staff Posted September 24, 2024 Hi @spodzone, You will get closer results both with the Serif Labs engine and Apple Core Image RAW as long as you set Tone Curve to Take no action in the Assistant (both require messing with Black Point a bit). You will have to reload the image after changing this setting. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
