Variable font support MSIX

Recommended Posts

Please provide more details, @jurajsci. Screenshots, sample documents, exact details of what isn't working.

Both kinds of fonts are working fine for me, with both MSIX and EXE/MSI installers. And for most other users, too, since no one else has complained about this.

I also try  EXE/MSI, but nothing will change. I also use FontExpert, but I don't know if that's the reason.

Sorry, but I still don't understand. Your video shows OTF and TTF fonts being selected, and things changing. You've said that only Variable fonts are working, but that's not what I see in the video.

What, specifically, didn't work?

Can you describe it in words, or produce a simpler recording that doesn't jump back and forth so much and just shows you selecting one thing that doesn't work, and demonstrates the problem?

Yes, she says that Variable Fonts are supported, and they are.

Please try to explain what your problem is, or create a slower, simpler video to show exactly the problem. If you'd prefer to use a language other than English, please do so.

From your video so far, I can see that you can choose Variable fonts, and click on the V button, and change their settings. So that part seems to be working.

From your initial description I think I understand that something is wrong with your Static fonts (OTF/TTF without the V button). If I'm right, what is the problem with those fonts? Nothing should have changed with them in this version of Affinity. They are Static, and still controlled by the old-style font settings of Style, font size, B/I/U.

The font presets are determined by the font designer, and each font may present different presets.

For example, here's Amstelvar which presents many more:
