Ralph Tomaccio
I'm retired and no longer use PS. Started using Affinity Photo 2 earlier this year and trying to relearn all those things I once knew how to do. This question, I'm guessing, should be relatively easy for you more frequent and younger users. I'm simply trying to make a rectangle with rounded corners. I found, what I feel, is the easiest way to make a rectangle by using the arrow tool without using an "End". The other method for making a rectangle is with the Pen tool, but that is not as simple. For both above tools, I can access the additional options by clicking on Stroke width, tried using them, but can't seem to get anything with rounded corners even though "Cap" and "Join appears with what looks like a way to do what I want. Can't get those to work either. Your suggestions will be most appreciated. Thanks, Ralph
PaulEC
Why not just use the Rounded Rectangle Tool? MikeTO
Hi Ralph, Photo has a Rounded Rectangle Tool that will do this for you automatically. Press and hold on the stack of shape tools (by default it will be a rectangle) and you'll see a flyout menu with all of the various tools. https://affinity.help/photo2/English.lproj/index.html?page=pages/Tools/tools_roundedRectangle.html&title=Rounded Rectangle Tool Ralph Tomaccio 1 Quote Download a free PDF manual for Affinity Publisher 2.5 Download a quick reference chart for Affinity's Special Characters Affinity 2.5 for macOS Sequoia 15.1, MacBook Pro 14" (M4 Pro)
markw
Would the Rounded Rectangle tool give you what you want? After drawing it out to the size you want, move the little red dot in the top left corner of the rectangle to adjust the roundness of it’s corners. I failed to explore the many other tools that I did not have showing in my tool selections. Thanks for the reminder. Thank you!
