Affinity Publisher v1 defaults to XPS printer, even though other printer is default

Hi @ajwwong,

Have you tried printing from any other apps outside of Affinity Publisher to confirm if the output to the Epson printer still attempts to save as .XPS?

It may be driver related, if you go to Windows Settings -> Printers & Scanners -> Click on your Printer -> 'Manage' -> Printer Properties -> Advanced you should be able to change the print driver from here and ensure it's set correctly. I have an Epson ET-2820 so I've just left my default as the 'Microsoft IPP Class Driver' but an alternative driver option for 'Microsoft XPS Document Writer V4' which produces some odd results when I try to print using this driver so you may want to check that it's not set to this.

Also, you could try removing your print drivers and then re-installing them to refresh before trying a print job again, just make sure to restart Publisher in between doing this.

I wonder if you might have something set in the "Print to File" section of the Print settings. I don't think you showed us that in your video, and if you ever used it the Affinity app might be remembering it from the last time you printed that file.

100% it's got to be this, just checked this in my print dialog and then tried to print to my Epson and it wants to output to XPS.

Good find!
