I have just downloaded the V2 and now even on V1 I can't seem to do this! The pdf imports, but I cannot reduce the size or move it into the correct place and the fat little white arrow thingumy has disappeared! can anyone help! I have just wasted a whole day's effort ! I know, I should have saved the bits that worked! Cheers Gillie

Also, which of the three Affinity applications are you using? -- ps: You have not Followed this topic, so when a moderator moves it you will have to search for it. Seems to be the "Place" Cursor. – Does it mean you don't see any cursor any more, neither in V2 nor V1 ? Or, if you see another cursor, how does it look like? What happens if you click on the page, does it place the resource, regardless of cursor or scaling? Do you get the "Place Images Panel" if you select two resources for placing? What happens to the cursor then? Gillie Sails Solo 1 Quote macOS 10.14.6 | MacBookPro Retina 15" | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1
Gillie Sails Solo
Oooh yes, I don't see any more! I don't see any pointer, when I press 'open' and it just dumps the frame of the page in between two pages. see attached screen shot. then when I try to move it, it wont, so I try to 'smallen' to move it that way, but it just keep jumping back to the original and wrong place! Gillie Sails Solo
I'm not entirely sure what the 'place images panel' is to be honest!
Gillie Sails Solo
You are correct. I cannot see the in either V! or V2
thomaso
18 minutes ago, Gillie Sails Solo said: see attached screen shot It would be nice if you would not crop a screenshot but show the entire application window. Especially if you want to demonstrate something that seems to be invisible it may be required to see the Context Toolbar, the Tools and according panels, at least the Layers Panel and in this case the Pages panel. Your empty frame doesn't tell much and may show just a frame containing a grid of dots placed on page 54 and currently moving upwards to page 53. If the issue happens explicitly as you describe it is so weird that I recommend to reboot the computer. If this does not help, possibly reset both apps … while it is strange that suddenly (?) both app versions are affected whereas V1 did work before (they don't share system files). That may indicate anything influences the cursor display and its function and/or position. Do you have any app running that is allowed or meant to access (record?) the screen in other apps? Oooh Sorry, I didn't think about the full screen malarky! I'll re do it. The 'empty frame ' is a grid of dots sorry, I will re-do it on a file I don't need. I will re-boot once I have replied to you. If I reset, will that remove all the document settings? Sorry to be so dumb, I can write poetry, sail a boat and bake, better than I can do this technical malarky! Well, I did a new text filled page and now nothing happens at all! I tried placing the 'word' doc first, nothing, so I tried placing the PDF because that was what the dot grid was on, but still, nothing! I'm going to re boot the lapdog now. see if it makes any difference! In this case it would help if you upload a screen record where you demonstrate the procedure, starting with Move Tool + an object selected on the page where you want to place the resource. And, please, with Layers Panel! While the Layers Panel may point to a possible culprit, neither Colour nor Paragraph panel would and are entirely irrelevant for your described problem with the "Place" procedure via tool or menu command. Eeeek! I have no idea how to do a screen record tbh! nor do I have any idea what the layers panel is or where it lives! I just gave you a screen shot of my lapdog as I use it! that is all I have open! cheers
