myephemera Posted August 20, 2024 Posted August 20, 2024 Hope someone can help with this, I cannot remove affinity v1 from the right click "open with" menu on Windows. The v1 programmes are uninstalled and the file associations are set to v2, but they remain there. Are there any further files that should be deleted? Quote

Komatös Posted August 20, 2024 Posted August 20, 2024 @myephemera Here are few steps you can try. Incorrect or no longer existing program assignments can be deleted in the registry. Press Windows key + R enter regedit and start To the path go to. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts Now find the correct file extension in the left directory tree. Now open it and under OpenWithList delete the incorrect entry in the right-hand window by right-clicking. Program entry still in the cache If the desired program cannot be found following the instructions above, there is another way to remove the program anyway. Press Windows key + R enter regedit and start To the path go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\MuiCache Now search for the name of the program in the right-hand section of the window and right-click to delete it. That was it already. To be on the safe side, right-click in the taskbar and open the Task Manager and restart explorer.exe once. walt.farrell and myephemera 1 1 Quote MAC mini M4 | MacOS Sequoia 15.3.1 | 16 GB RAM | 256 GB SSD AMD Ryzen 7 5700X | INTEL Arc A770 LE 16 GB | 32 GB DDR4 3200MHz | Windows 11 Pro 24H2 (26100.3194) Affinity Suite V 2.6 & Beta 2.6 (latest) Interested in a free (selfhosted) PDF Solution?
