sinikick
Hi I'm for some reason unable to export this file as a vector file of any kind, and when I do it crashes in the export screen. I'm trying to export an SVG preferred, if anyone has any recommendations or know a way to fix this I would greatly appreciate it. I don't think the file is too big, though it has a lot of strokes, and the computer I'm using is an alienware r12. I also haven't had trouble with other files exporting as another note. A bit struggling with this for the past few hours, so any help is greatly appreciated!! foil print yellow fixer file.afdesign
firstdefence
The curves are a total mess, no wonder this document crashes. Best case scenario is to group all the forms like "The", "true", the hair, "Death" etc into groups, lock the groups and then trace over the complete shapes. I haven't got time to make a video but I've grouped the various sections and traced "The" to give you and idea. foil print yellow fixer file edited.afdesign Quote iMac 27" 2019 Sequoia 15.0 (24A335), iMac 27" Affinity Designer, Photo & Publisher V1 & V2, Adobe, Inkscape, Vectorstyler, Blender, C4D, Sketchup + more... Hangman
Hi @sinikick and welcome to the forums, There are two problematic layers in your file, I've tagged both in red and labelled them Problem. They are currently toggled off in the first attached file so this file will now export though may take a little while... The file really is a complete mess and generates a very messy, overly complex SVG file... it ideally needs to be dramatically simplified which would take time but can be done in large part by merging layers and removing unnecessary layers... sinikick
Thanks for the help! I'm new to this kind of stuff, and mainly just need the vector file for a foil print im making, so I had to speed run making the design with a limited skill set on my side. Sadly I don't know how to properly merge layers or anything like that, and got caught on a deadline, so I did end up having to brute force the program to get the drawing I needed. Luckily I think I figured out how to make things easier now, but just didn't have enough time to go back and redo the hair. Thanks again for the the help orz Hangman

It took a while (5-10 minutes perhaps) to have the PDF created FWIW, I think it depends on the machine spec used to make the exports...
