Hi everyone

So.. my lines arent straight, they are like.. wobbly.  I did a comparison between other software, I dont use stabilizer anywhere.

Actually with affinity , I tried drawing with mouse instead of pen tablet and get the same result. Does anyone know the solution for that?

Tried to disable openCL, it doesnt help

Manually drawing (sketching) a straight line (without a drawing aid) with most computer input devices (mouse, trackpad, drawing tablet, etc.) is inherently difficult to do, and each may be 'better' for some people than others for various reasons.

Unless you can show that using exactly the same physical hand movements with the same tool (and tool settings) produces a different result between the different versions of the software, and/or similar tools in different software, there’s maybe not a lot that anyone can do.

If you are not using any stabilisation functionality then that will make it even more difficult to draw straight lines. However, other applications may be applying some stabilisation without you knowing about it so the comparison between different software may be flawed.

Thanks for the video, that makes it easier to see the issue.

I can’t interpret what’s happening in the other applications because I don’t use them but, in Designer, I can definitely see a ‘wobble’ in the lines that is more noticeable than can be seen in the other software.

Unfortunately I don’t know whether what you are seeing is expected or not as I don’t have the same graphics tablet.

Maybe someone with an Intuos Pro can try the same thing for themselves and see what result they get.

Manually sketching a straight line with a mouse is very difficult to do, even with a ruler taped to your mousemat.

Trying to compare manual sketches with a mouse in different software where there’s no guarantee that the hand movements used were ‘steady’ and ‘comparable’ would also be fraught with difficulties.

If you want perfectly straight lines, is there some reason why you do not want to use the Pen Tool in Line mode?
