Ludovic Michaux Posted June 18, 2024 Posted June 18, 2024 Does this happen to others? I use Publisher 2.5 on my Ipad Pro and try to create a book from a text written on Collabora Office: but every time I try to paste my text copied from my Collabora doc into Publisher, the application quits. I tried looking for solutions, quit, restarted, etc, but nothing to do, every time I try again I get the same crash. Do you have a solution to avoid this rather very annoying crash? Quote
Staff NathanC Posted June 19, 2024 Staff Posted June 19, 2024 Welcome to the forums @Ludovic Michaux, This isn't an app I've come into contact before with on iOS, but after downloading it and copying a small text passage from the app into Publisher this has worked as expected after pressing 'Allow' to the iOS permission request. Perhaps this is related to the content in you Collabora document that you're copying from, have you tried pasting the same content into a different iOS app to confirm if it works? If it pastes as expected in other apps could you perhaps provide a copy of the document and also direct me towards what content you're copying and pasting? For pasting large sections of text you'll probably be better off exporting/Save as the document out of Collabora as a compatible text format (DOCX or RTF) and then using the 'Place' tool to place it from your files into an existing Pub document. This will create a text frame containing all the text content within that file, you can then use the Autoflow function to automatically flow the text into new frames for you on new pages, more info below. As such, it should be possible to export to any file formats supported by Microsoft Office. 3 minutes ago, NathanC said: For pasting large sections of text you'll probably be better off exporting/Save as the document out of Collabora as a compatible text format (DOCX or RTF) and then using the 'Place' tool to place it from your files into an existing Pub document. My thoughts precisely. I wouldn’t want to rely on the clipboard for something like this.
