Check the Appearance panel. You need to have two strokes, black that is thicker, blue that is thinner.

It is a duplicate of the previous  curve. I just removed extra points that won’t be seen anyway

Thanks. I've never looked at the appearance panel before and never realized that a user could add more than one stroke or fill. I was trying to do something similar a couple days before you posted, so it was great that you posted when you did and I learned some new things.
