maxoakland
I like to have my toolbars and windows floating on the edges of the screen with document windows in the middle of the screen. I don't like single-window style applications. This is one of the things that attracted me to Affinity over other competitors The one issue preventing me from achieving this is that I can't seem to move the Context Toolbar or figure out how to put it in its own window. This means I'm stuck with the empty "main" window behind all my other windows or I have to give up the many useful options and shortcuts displayed by this toolbar Ideally, I'd like to float this to the top of the screen right under the menu bar (I'm on Mac) just like when I use Photoshop, but putting it into a floating window like the other toolbars would be acceptable too PaoloT 1 Quote OS Version: Mac OS Sonoma Software: Affinity Photo
walt.farrell
That's not a configuration option that the Affinity applications provide. walt.farrell
As far as I know, the Toolbar doesn't float, either. The Tools panel can float, and the Studio panels, but not the Menu, Toolbar, or Context Toolbar. ThreadstoTwelve
I also would like it if the top bars could be moved and docked in separate places as well as the toolbar. maxoakland

Not clear what you mean by "top bars." Are you talking about the Mac menu bar or something else? AFAIK, the position of the Mac menu bar cannot be changed. ThreadstoTwelve
I am talking about these bars on top of the program. Both the top and bottom row cant be removed from the workspace, and Id really like if the bottom bar in this image could be docked elsewhere too. R C-R
You can use the Tab key to toggle on & off everything other than the document window. You also have options on the View menu to turn on & off the display of the Context Toolbar & main Toolbar (the latter of which will hide both toolbars). These two can have keyboard shotcuts so they can be done quickly. But there is no way to "undock" these toolbars.
