awakenedbyowls Posted May 5, 2024 Posted May 5, 2024 On this exported file the top brush stroke was done on Windows The bottom one is on the iPad - a nice effect I want to use for creating the effect of tree branches Both are Pressure Brush 1 - 200px - on the Windows version the Force Pressure is turned off and on the iPad I am applying a light stroke Quote
awakenedbyowls Posted May 5, 2024 Author Posted May 5, 2024 Compare also these two exported jpgs The top one shows Windows applying the same Brush as above - the top is with no Force Pressure and the bottom is with Similarly on the second image it shows brush strokes on my iPad with the top line applying light pressure and the bottom heavy You can see the effects produced by the same brush are not the same between Windows and iPad Quote
walt.farrell Posted May 5, 2024 Posted May 5, 2024 As the brush is not a standard one supplied with the application, it would be helpful to know the brush category and where you obtained it. From another topic you posted about this brush we can see it's from the Affinity Store, but knowing the product there would be helpful. Never mind... I've found I do have that pack, just not installed on my iPad, or on my usual Windows system. That will let me play with it. On your Windows system, what do you use to draw your brush strokes? Also, could you try it on the iPad with the same settings you used on Windows, specifically with Force Pressure off? walt.farrell Posted May 5, 2024 Posted May 5, 2024 I don't get anything like what you're showing on my iPad. Can you provide a screenshot that shows the full screen so we can see all the settings (sliders, top bar, right-studio)? awakenedbyowls Posted May 5, 2024 Author Posted May 5, 2024 I'm using a mouse with Windows This is what it looks like on my iPad with Force Pressure Off (top) and On (bottom) I have no idea what the point in Force Pressure is on the iPad Quote

Whether pressure will be used, or not. Thanks for the added screenshot. That will help research your problem. In case you missed it, I also asked what you use for drawing on the desktop. Mouse, Wacom stylus, something else? But as you're using a mouse on Windows, you don't have Pressure as a control that you can really use for that. You would need to be using a stylus to get the same effect, I think. For that brush you may come come close using multiple, overlaid strokes using Wet Edges. Or, perhaps, editing a copy of the brush and changing the Flow dynamic to Random, and using multiple, overlaid strokes without Wet Edges. Or, perhaps, editing a copy and changing the Flow dynamic to Velocity, and using either slow or fast mouse strokes. But the basic issue, I believe, is trying to use a brush with Pressure dynamics without a drawing tool that supports Pressure and not a difference between iPad and Windows. (Though there were, and may still be, differences between the brush engine on iPad and on the desktop I don't think that explains what you're seeing here.)
