garrettm30 Posted May 3, 2024 Posted May 3, 2024 A minor UI issue that has come as part of the Text Style Editor screen: the text size of the section names has increased slightly (thanks), but they need a bit more space now, because there is now clipping on descenders. It is most noticeable on the bottom of the lowercase Gs. Note that this is with the large UI text size. Besides the clipping, I think they could benefit from some extra spacing. Seeing these side by side makes me notice UI work is being done that I hadn’t noticed yet. Thanks for that. This screenshot also made me realize there is a change in the app accent color, and I’m not sure if this is a bug. Some weeks ago, I changed the macOS accent color setting from purple to auto, which I understand allows each app to pick its own color. So now 2.4.2 uses blue (which used to be the macOS default), but beta 2.5.0 shows purple. Is that now the new Publisher default, or is the beta somehow stuck on my old setting? Quote

It's still blue for me with auto so perhaps it's stuck for you? It's odd though. What about the other two apps? With the current macOS setting at “auto,” all three 2.4.2 apps show blue, while all three beta 2.5.0 apps show purple as the accent color. I wonder if it is issued 2862 that was logged in the same thread you kindly pointed me to regarding the clipping. Quote

I believe 2862 is for the summer at the bottom of the text styles editor which is now dark charcoal in light mode. You could try setting macOS to green or yellow and then back to auto. You could also try switching between dark and light modes in the beta. I'm grasping at straws. In that case, I think it may be a bug. I think I could try getting it “unstuck” by maybe cycling some settings, but I will wait to do any of that in case Serif would want some current configuration files for me to see if it was a 2.4 to 2.5 migration issue that they might want to look into.
