sandoz Posted May 3, 2024 Posted May 3, 2024 Using latest build of Affinity Designer 2 on both Mac and PC. This bug has existed through all versions of Affinity (I've used both 1 and 2) on both platforms. When I use the Set Fill (i.e. click on the black circle here) on a Group Designer completely hangs and I need to use Task Manager on PC or Force Quit on Mac to break out. I lose work to the last recovery save. Obviously, clicking on the group is non-sensical as I actually intend to apply the fill to some object within the group but the program should throw an exception not completely crash. Have been having this problem for years but finally got my but over here to post. Love to see it fixed. Quote
Ron P. Posted May 3, 2024 Posted May 3, 2024 Hi @sandoz, I can't seem to replicate this. Do you have just one group, or numerous? Are you selecting the Group in the Layers Panel or in the Document View? Are you working on a document that is on your local drive, external, cloud? Does this happen all the time or sporadically? sandoz Posted May 5, 2024 Author Posted May 5, 2024 I have had this happen hundreds of times over the past 3-4 years. 1. All it takes is one group but also occurs with multiple groups 2. In the document view and the layer view (selecting a group with more than one layer in it) 3. Cloud - Google Drive 4. 80=90% of the time. If the layers share the same color fill and border, it seems not to be a problem, but if there is a text layer and an object layer (rectangle, circle, etc.) trying to apply colors to either the border or fill will cause the crash. walt.farrell Posted May 5, 2024 Posted May 5, 2024 If you can create a sample document where you can get this to fail reliably enough, it would probably help to share that document here so others (and Serif) have something to start with.
