Publisher 2.5.0.2415 initial dialog bug

Recommended Posts

Mine looks fine using the EXE installer, @anto. I will check the MSIX later, but I haven't noticed anything like that so far.

Thanks. I have no idea what might have happened to you.

Was it like that from the beginning of the 2.5 beta? Or like that in the 2.4 beta?

Perhaps you should hold Ctrl while starting the application and perform a Reset (just the User Data, probably, not the rest).

I've done this once before, when the Line Width Tool didn't work.

I just tried to reset next settings but nothing help. There is no nothing.

It looks to me as though there are some issues in your installation directory, and the app cannot find the file that contains the default document sizes. Do you find that brushes are also missing?

Could you go to your installation directory and attach screenshots of the root of the install directory, and a screenshot of the contents of the 'Resources' folder as well please?

I've installed the Publisher 2.5.0.2415 Beta EXE on a clean install of Windows and the contents is appearing correctly for me, and also for Walt which suggests it may not be an installer issue. Did you upgrade from the 2.5.0.2402 EXE to 2415 and did 2402 look correct?

Can you also confirm that you haven't extracted the contents of the MSIX files and are running that?

I use only the exe version and constantly update the program if there are updates. I don't even download the msix version from the website.

Yes, I just noticed that they are missing. And when I click on the brush, I get a crash.
Regarding the brushes, it was with the retail version when I upgraded to 2.4.2.

Prior to uninstalling can you check the contents of the Resources/Affinity Publisher/ folder please?

Some anti malware/virus software gets a little protective and has been known to delete the contents of this folder and cause the issues you are seeing above.

Yup - it is missing all the propcols that your 2.4.2 has which is why all these things are appearing blank. A reinstall should fix these for you.

What 'protective' software do you use on your machine?

I don't remember, because I installed one program that showed me a lot of viruses, and I uninstalled it. It must have done some damage. It was a program that was given away as a giveaway.
If it's important, I'll look up its name.

Its fine, that makes sense with what you're seeing! :) Let me know if you're still having issues after an uninstall/reinstall.
