Handyann Posted March 11, 2024 Posted March 11, 2024 (edited) Hi all. I just started using Designer yesterday and am having a text issue. I'm using Artistic text because I mostly only need a few words here and there on a pattern drawing. When I started work this morning, I could click Enter at the end of a line of text inside a text box to drop down to the beginning of the next line as usual. A few minutes ago, things had changed and hitting Enter took me back to the beginning of the current line and the new text typed over the old. I'm not aware of having changed anything (but being a newbie I could have without realising!) so does anyone know what the problem might be please? Any help would be much appreciated please. That's a function of Frame Text, and the Text Frame Tool, I think. Artistic Text doesn't really have a frame in which you'd align the text. You can align center with the Artistic Text tool but you wouldn't see anything unless there is more than one line of text. walt.farrell 1 Quote

This could be caused by setting the leading to 0 (zero). Handyann Posted March 11, 2024 Author Posted March 11, 2024 Thank you for getting back to me. As far as I know I haven't changed anything in the Characters panel - I don't actually know how to find it yet! - and certainly not fiddled with the Leading (?) Are there any ideas how I can fix the problem please? I edited my original question because I did find out how to centre-align the text about 3 seconds after I posted, as you do 🙄 Quote
KarinC Posted March 11, 2024 Posted March 11, 2024 (edited) In Designer you go to Window > text then open Paragraph. (for leading) Edited March 11, 2024 by KarinC clarification Handyann 1 Quote
