relocating affinity 2 from a windows 10 to windows 11 machine

Recommended Posts

Im sure this question has been asked somewhere on the forum before but I cant find it, so apologies in advance.

I have a 'vanilla' affinity photo 2 licensed installation on a windows 10 laptop.  I need to move the installation to a windows 11 laptop before the windows 10 machine dies completely.  Is there an idiot's guide somewhere I can follow to do this?

thanks

Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, @Steve1234. :)

If you have a single-user licence, you can install the software on any Windows machine that you own or control, and you (but only you) are covered for commercial as well as personal use, so you can go ahead and install it on the Windows 11 laptop without first needing to uninstall it from the Windows 10 machine. If you were to decide to give away the old laptop (should anyone want it!) you would simply uninstall Affinity Photo 2 beforehand.

Hi Alfred, its the actual process of installing the app on a new machine that Im concerned about - for example, do I ignore 'buy it now', select 'free trial' then at some point enter an ID I find on my existing installation somewhere?

If you purchased directly from Serif, you just download the application from your account at the Affinity Store (https://affinity.store) and run the installer. Make sure you download the same kind of installer (MSIX (default) or EXE) that you used originally. Then after it installs, and you run it, you'll be asked to sign-in using your Affinity Store email and password.

To find the V2 applications in your account: https://affinity.store/account/ and then after signing in, click V2 licenses & downloads, then view the license for the application, and you'll have a download link.
