Manage my Webplus website on different computer

Recommended Posts

I have been managing a website, www.braybank.info, for many years using Serif's now abandoned Webplus, most recently X7.

I have to pass it on to a successor and am trying to install and run it on my laptop in preparation for handover. I can do all the offline stuff OK, but I cannot upload it to my host, Fasthosts. Uploading is handled by the Webplus software, and it still works fine on my ageing Dell desktop, but on trying to establish a new connection from the laptop (also Dell), Fasthosts is demanding that I use 'secure' ftp connections. Can anyone tell me please how to achieve this?

Thank you

Mike

Hello @Rawmichael and welcome to the forum.

SFTP is the encrypted protocol of FTP. I do not know the software. It is possible that your program offers to enter a port number. For FTP connections this is port 20 or 21, for SFTP connections port 22 is used.
I hope my little excursion into the world of networks helps you.

In any case, this forum is only for Affinity applications, not WebPlus, and not for discussions of various network protocols.

The only support for WebPlus would be via an external site run by one of the forum members, as mentioned in this FAQ. Perhaps you can get some help there.
