jmsjms
I am resampling from 400 to 72 dpi.... Shouldn't the size of the image increase?
walt.farrell
You're not resampling, though. The Resample button is not checked, so all you're doing is changing the DPI while keeping the number of pixels the same. No - changing the DPI does not affect the number of pixels of the image - the pixels remain the same pixels. If you had the dimensions of the image defined in length DUs, e.g. inches, then the DPI change would of course have an effect on the number of pixels. jmsjms
So, what should I do to increase the dimensions, while decreasing the DPI to 72 -- without affecting the image quality?
walt.farrell
Increase dimensions in what way? You could mean increasing the number of pixels, or increasing the size it will print at but keeping the same number of pixels. That second one won't maintain the same quality, do probably you mean the first one. For that, check the Resample box, and specify the desired pixel dimensions or physical dimensions (inches , mm, etc.) and the DPI you want, and the Resample method you want to use. jmsjms
Got it, thanks. I had to go to my previous software to orient myself. I had to change the pixels to inches.
