BETA Designer v2 DXF & DWG Export Issue

Recommended Posts

BETA Designer v2 DXF & DWG Export Issue. These do not export the groups or layer names. If it's possible, can we have this. The exports use generic naming and separates all consolidated vectors into separate layers and lumps all of it into the same layer. When sending a file to a CNC operator it can be helpful to be able to give them some direction as to what operations are meant for each vector. Thanks for your time.

Hi EkDor,

Layers should be exporting out with Layer Names, though you will need to ensure your export settings are suitable. See this post for a small description on what the 'Layers' option does and how to it maps from Affinity Layers to AutoCAD. I will double-check the behaviour regarding groups, but from what I recall there are intentional reasons for them not being exported.

Do you mind attaching a copy of the document you're trying to export, the settings used on the Export dialog and the resulting DWG/DXF file.

@Sean P: I think you forgot to link the post you referenced for the description of the Layers option.

Ahh so I did! Thanks for picking that up Walt! It was the feature thread below that I intended.

I have also created this file which should list the expected layer inside AutoCAD the coloured rectangles should appear in based on what the chosen export setting was.

@Sean

Ok I took a look and read of file and article. I had the layer setting set incorrectly in the export. As long as we Keep relevant objects in Named layers we should be able to direct CNC operator sufficiently. Thanks for your assistance.
