Affinity-Inspiration Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 Anyone know how to add AP to this list? on the iPad and it shows three options but I can't see how to add others, like AO. Staff NathanC Posted February 8, 2024 Staff Posted February 8, 2024 Hi @Affinity-Inspiration This 'Options' dialog in the Apple Photos editor displays Apps that have a dedicated Photos Edit extension, which Affinity doesn't currently support on iOS. This was posted as a feature request a fair few years ago, and on the thread Paul M has detailed an alternative method using the 'Shortcuts' app to create an app launch shortcut which can be used in Photos. loukash and Paul Mudditt 1 1 Quote

This isn’t a solution to the iPad question. I know about the Mac version and use it but it’s not a solution for the iPad I’m afraid. So I guess we just wait for it to become implemented in an update in the future. Westerwälder 1 Quote iPad Mini 6. 256GB. My GoTo design platform. M2 Mac Mini. 24GB. I'm surely not new to scripting in general, but I seriously can't figure out how to build the shortcut based on Paul's tutorial when using iPadOS 16. The commands just don't seem to exist there. (But perhaps it's just me and my admittedly irrational aversion towards the "Shortcuts" app in particular; also on Mac… ) 24 minutes ago, Affinity-Inspiration said: it’s not a solution for the iPad I’m afraid In theory it obviously is, or was. Alright, got it: our family iPad runs in German, so some "terminology rethink" on my part was necessary. 41 minutes ago, Affinity-Inspiration said: it’s not a solution for the iPad I’m afraid Don't be afraid. It did take me a fair few minutes to figure out how to add it to the share sheet on IOS 17 as the process has definitely changed between now and the IOS version shown in Paul's recording. Quote

My impression of this whole Shortcuts thing is that someone at Apple had a look at the Mac Automator app and thought: "How can we make it even more confusing for iOS users, and then annoy the Mac users with it as well?!" Well, "mission accomplished" as far as I'm concerned… Paul Mudditt and NathanC 2 Quote MacBookAir 15": MacOS Sonoma > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // MacBookPro 15" mid-2012: MacOS El Capitan > Affinity v1 / MacOS Catalina > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // iPad 8th: iPadOS 18 > Affinity v2
Affinity-Inspiration Posted February 8, 2024 Author Posted February 8, 2024 Sorry guys, going slightly off topic here so I thought I’d better reiterate. I know about and use the shortcut method, but what I’m interested in is Affinity being enabled as a photo editor like the three already there. The sequences are in this video. The first part is my interest in this post the last part the working shortcut method. Its the first part I’m interested in seeing implemented.
