Stewart Bourke
Why is there no facility to save a .aphoto file for RAW images before they are developed? The use case is: - I have a RAW file open in AP2 and I make some changes. - I have not finished making the changes, but I want to close that image and come back to it later. At this stage I do not wish to develop the image There is no 'Save' or 'Save as' option on the File menu ion the develop persona. Once I develop I get the options to save - which is to be expected. To not have the ability to save work-in-progress on a RAW image is very poor application behaviour. if nothing else, I like to save as I am going along in case there are PC issues. I realise that until you develop no changes are applied on disk - but to not be able to save WIP is not acceptable. Are there any plan to introduce such a facility? I have seen some posts referring to lack of desire to have to confirm closing images etc - but they are missing the point - if I have made changes on-screen I want to be able to save them, regardless of when (or if) I ever develop the image. Thank you Stewart Bourke
carl123
Near the Develop button there is an Output: option If you select Raw Layer Linked or Raw Layer Embedded you can develop and save the AFPhoto document then go back in and continue editing the Raw file from where you left off Please read the Help file for further Help Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.
Staff MEB Posted January 25 Staff Share Posted January 25 Hi @Stewart Bourke, While in Develop Persona, change the Output to RAW layer (Embedded or Linked) which will allow you to work on the RAW non-destructively. You can then double-click the respective layer in Photo Persona to go back to Develop Persona and rework your original settings.
