jdval Posted January 23, 2024 Posted January 23, 2024 I am very new to affinity photo 2 ... I am using the ipad pro with pencil. when I try and create a new document (transparent background), and i try and use any of the shapes, they only show the outline - not filled in solid. If I open a document (.af) and try to add another layer and do the same thing, it is only outlined. If i create a new document with white background and do the same steps, it gives me the shape as solid. Does the pixel layer that i am trying to draw a solid square on need to be something else? Staff Callum Posted January 23, 2024 Staff Posted January 23, 2024 Hi Jdval, Please could you use the iPads inbuilt screen recorder to create a video demonstrating this issue? This should hopefully show me where you might be going wrong https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT207935 Thanks C Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP.

Brian_J Posted January 25, 2024 Posted January 25, 2024 Selections can’t be copied from an Image Layer. In order to copy the selection, rasterize the Image Layer to convert it to a Pixel Layer, then make the selection and copy/past it to a new layer.
