Problem IPad Affinity Publisher

Recommended Posts

Good evening,
I have a problem with a file that I was working on for months for my school thesis, I have the delivery in 5 days but since a few hours if I try to open the file that is on ''Doc Live''( and I didn't save in pdf or other formats) crash a the application.
I don't know how to fix it and I need to keep working on that file, I have the app up to date and the license in good standing I don't understand, I may have deleted a file from the source and now it can't find it but that doesn't seem like a good reason to keep crashing.
I don't know what is the right part in the forum to post this request and I don't even know English well I hope you will understand but it is a critical situation for me.

Best regards
Matthew🫠

Hi @Matteo GIacomelli and welcome to the forums,

Are you able to upload your file so we can take a look and could you confirm that you are using version 2.3.0 of Publisher?

He said he did not Save it, and it is only in Live Docs. Unless he can Save it, he won't be able to share.

From the Splash screen, he's using 2.3.0.

@Matteo GIacomelli: I would suggest trying to Save the document. From Live Docs, tap on the 3 bar icon on the upper-right of the document, and try Saving (or Save As) from there.

If that does not work, I would suggest a Restart of the iPad, and then a Reset of the application. To perform the Reset:

  1. Start the application
  2. When you see the Splash screen, quickly double-tap it with 1 finger.
  3. Click the Reset or Clear button on the lower right.

Is Doc Live not just a service used by OneDrive?

I read this as he'd not saved the file in any alternative formats such as a PDF but I'm assuming the Publisher file is still available if he's able to make the screen recording demonstrating the issue (but maybe I've misunderstood)...

My assumption, rightly or wrongly is that the file is sitting on OneDrive but it can no longer be opened, which was why I was hoping it could either be downloaded from there and uploaded to the forum or access granted directly to the file on OneDrive so we could take a look...

Hopefully, @Matteo GIacomelli can confirm either way and then we can see what options are available...

I missed the subtle version number on the iPad version as I didn't preview full screen but now I see it, thanks... 😀

Live Docs is the home screen on the Affinity V2 apps on iPad, otherwise known as the Sandbox in V1.

Ah, okay... 'Doc live' is also the name of a service used by OneDrive hence my confusion... I'm surprised it doesn't get translated into Italian along with the other icons but there you go, I've learnt something new today, thank you... 😀
