Buffpapier Posted December 28, 2023 Posted December 28, 2023 Bonjour / Hello everybody My First Time in this forum! Since I move on Affinity V2, I notice this issue: When I start a New Doc in Mac Desktop then I want to work on it further on my IPAD, the Publisher App crashs! It‘s a pity, because that‘s why I bought the all V2 Thing in Affinity, in Order to have all the flexibilty to work on apple devices when I‘m travelling. Has somebody also this Kind of issue? Thanks in advance for your support Stéphane Quote
Hangman Posted December 28, 2023 Posted December 28, 2023 Bonjour @Buffpapier and a warm welcome to the forums, Is it Publisher on your Mac or iPad that's crashing (I'm assuming the one on your iPad)? It's possible this could be a cloud syncing issue... as a quick test, if you Save your Publisher file on your Mac (I'm assuming you're saving it to iCloud) and then physically download it on your iPad from iCloud, does the file still crash on opening? Buffpapier Posted December 30, 2023 Author Posted December 30, 2023 Hello @Hangman Thank you so much for your answer. Effectively, Publisher Crashs when I open the file from the Cloud, and Not when I’m loadind it directly from my IPAD. I Never had this Problem before… I can work via the Cloud with my desktop and Notebook. But then I have now to Download the project on my IPAD in order to work with… My Notebook is more Than 10 years old, my IPad is two years old! It’s why I wanted to Switch on IPAD to work further on Publisher. But now I’m a Little confusing and Hope that my laptop will live a Little bit longer… Thank you again for your advice and I wisch you a good start for 2024! all the best Quote
Staff Lee D Posted January 2, 2024 Staff Posted January 2, 2024 @Buffpapier It's not something I can replicate, but the best workflow is to download the file first from cloud storage and then open. This can help reduce issues relating to syncing, such as file corruption which can lead to lost files. The file that seems to be crashing for you, does it have any linked resources? Quote
Buffpapier Posted January 2, 2024 Author Posted January 2, 2024 Hello Lee D Nope! This file has any linked ressources, only integreted. As you mentioned, the best workflow is to download the file first, I agree. But until I switched to V2 from Affinity, I didn't have that problem yet, and of course it was very convenient to work directly from the cloud and have the ability to switch from one device to another, and of course, and when someone else was invited to work on the file, it was very efficient.
