Designer V1 on Windows 11 - Not Responding

Recommended Posts

Hi

I've poured over these forums and not found a solution.

Does anyone know if Designer V1 is compatible with Windows 11? Every, single time I go to open a file or save Designer crashes with "Not Responding".

Things I have tried:

  • Removing the application and re-installing (tried several versions, they all crash the same way).
  • Unchecking 'Enable CL'
  • Starting the program by holding the control button and clearing user data

My laptop is an HP spectre and should have no trouble running the program and hasn't had a problem in the past.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums.

Yes, it's compatible with Windows 11. Was it working fine on that computer on Win 10, and then started failing when you upgraded Windows to Win 11?

Win crashes do often occur due to GPU drivers and OpenCL performance settings, certain unresolved MS .Net framework installments, sandboxed limited access rights MSIX vs EXE installments & mismatched app install settings, or some other conflicting third party apps (antivirus + security access blocking tools etc.).

Sometimes it's helpful to look after possible generated Win and/or Affinity crash reports in order to find out the reason of odd behaviors.

Did you upgrade from Windows 10 to 11 or has this laptop always been Windows 11, also please check that the the option 'Choose where to get apps' in the Advance app setting in Windows is set to Anywhere
