Hi all, been a very long time since I last posted on here.

So I am trying to apply a mask to an image an Image I created. It is a logo using the Union Jack flag and I want to give the edges a distressed look. Being as I was out of practice with Affinity I used the good old University of YouTube and came across this video... I am trying to do the section timed at 12m 27seconds. However... nothing happens when I try to drag the logo into the texture layer. I've attached a screen shot of what I am getting.... in short nothing. I am pretty sure I am making a simple error but can anyone help me out?

Drag the texture layer onto the Layers Icon to create a mask.

Morning,

Thankyou from replying. I’ve tried that but all that happens is my image disappears. I am certain I am doing something fundamentally simple and wrong. All I want to do is create a distressed edge to the image. Big ask but anyone able to give me a step by step guide on the process.

thanks folks

Mark

Sorry to hear you're having trouble @Mvdarbs!

Are you able to provide a copy of your Affinity document, so we can offer specific advice?

Unfortunately it's had to tell the exact layer structure from the screenshot provided - as the texture layer is currently collapsed and rendered 'hidden', meaning I'm unsure how best to advise currently.

Many thanks in advance :)
