We are pleased to announce an update for the macOS release of Affinity Photo 2, version 2.3.0

The changes in Affinity Photo 2 for macOS 2.3.0 (those made since the last release Affinity Photo 2 for macOS 2.2.1are listed in this FAQ forum post:

To get notified when any new releases are made please follow the latest releases thread by clicking here

UPDATING TO THIS VERSION (which is free for all V2 users)

The software version can be seen on the splash screen and the About dialog (in application menu, Affinity Photo > About).

If you’ve purchased from the Mac App Store— updates are done automatically next time you run your software after it is available in the Mac App Store. If this does not happen for you, open the Mac App Store app and go to the Updates page and then Store > Reload page or press CMD+R. This should hopefully force the update to show. Apple sometimes phase roll outs around the world which can mean it may take up to 72 hours for your update to be available.

If you’ve purchased from the Affinity Store— each time you start the software it will check for updates and offer to download and install any available update, or in the application main menu there is an option Check for Updates. You can download the latest installer by logging into the affinity store here and find the order in your account and use the "download" button in there. Alternatively, this new release (and previous versions of Affinity Photo for macOS) can be downloaded from this link (that installer is NOT for Mac app store purchases, which update through the Mac App Store).

An impressive list of bug fixes: very appreciated, and some of them looong overdue. ;)

What I would also like to see on the list is a summary of known issues, particularly those that are already scheduled for the subsequent update, plus those major but often reported and acknowledged issues that still need to wait for a fix (for whichever reason). thanks

This is the page for "Release notes" that I get from the Mac OS app. However, this page is useless to me and I can't find anything like a change log. Why do you hide it? Many of use are stuck on other versions and it is a big waste of time for use to install something that is still broken and then roll back. I've searched FOR HOURS! It is like a circular reference where all I get is promisees of release notes and not any explanation of what is updated. I suppose it's new features and new bugs? I feel so unheard by Affinity! I wish they would have some transparency and open up a real bug system so that we could see a public version of the real dev logs.

It's here (included in the first post)

because all our software benefits from the fixes this approach saves writing the change list out 9 times (3 apps on 3 os's)

Sorry if you found it confusing, we adopted this approach for the last 3 major updates. If you look in the FAQ forum you'll find the 2.2 and 2.1 equivalent posts.

So, looks like there are no new camera raw file support added?

Not this time but likely there will be during the forthcoming 2.4 cycle
