Graphical Chris
All of the the Quick FX panel sub effects close after using. In version 1, they use to stay open, now, after selecting an effect they all close all of the time. This adds heaps more clicks, can we please just have them stay open. And if this was a request from number 1 to have them close after each use, can there be a setting that allows you to keep open or closed? To help understand my pain with this... I will be working on a job that might have 15 photos on the page and I might want to add a drop shadow to each photo. After selecting and adding a drop shadow on one photo, the panel closes and you have to click and expand the sub effects again to access. or you maybe adding an effect to one object and discover you want to make adjustments to it, so you have to click and expand once again. This added clicking is frustrating when you're accessing a heap of Quick FX sub menus.
myclay
If the FX stays the same for everything; 1. copy your Layer with the already applied FX. CTRL+C 2.select all the other images you want the FX applied to. 3. go to Edit > Paste FX To erase already applied FX , copy from an layer without an applied FX and use Paste Fx on all Layers you want to remove it on. Another workflow is to grab the FX and move it ontop of another Layer, seems to only work on a per Layer basis. EDIT; not to invalidate your complaint, having the edited FX expanded at all times sounds good for quick adjustments on other Layers. Edited November 24, 2023 by myclay added other method and recorded a gif for it. Graphical Chris
Hi Myclay, It's not the function of copy a FX to another layer, that's fine. Its the ability to easily access the FX panels without having click so many times. Quite often you will apply an effect and realise it doesn't look good so you tweak it. This means having to click open the Sub FX panel again and again and again. You may also have different effect settings on differnt objects, even though you are using the same effect. My post is not about copy FX to other objects but rather keeping the effects panels open as they were in version 1. Thanks for your feedback, though. myclay
myclay
It is a bug which reemerged, might be best to write in the above linked thread. carl123
If you ignore the Quick FX Panel (for now) and access the FX dialog by using the FX icon in the Layers panel you will find that the FX dialog stays open until you close it. Even when switching layers or documents Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. myclay
The Layer Effect window should stay on the last active panel, in the given example Outer Shadow tab/window should still be visible when switching the Layer. Right now after clicking on another Layer, Outer Shadow "closes" switches to Bevel/emboss. The behavior is unwanted and same issue as the Quick FX window closing its tabs bug which once was fixed. The User wants the opened state no matter if its the Layer Effects or Quick FX to remain the same. As an example for the QuickFX situation, other programs give the Users the ability to disable/enable AutoClose UI Groups since sometimes both UI behaviors can be preferred by the user.
