I would like to use my trackpad to alter slider values by scrolling once the slider has focus, so that I do not have to click and scroll to change values.  This is a very intuitive way to alter the effect of the slider.  While the focus is on the slider I don't have to remain holding the trackpad down to make changes.  The acceleration setting of the trackpad will magnify the value delta of a large swipe, but allow very fine control with  a slow swipe.

For context, I have an Apple MacBook and the trackpad is superb.  Capture One has this feature and I use it all the time.

That works fine for me, but it depends on which Studio panel I'm in.

In Publisher 2, for example, it works in the Character panel but not the Paragraph panel, where it was (intentionally, if I remember correctly) disabled because it was causing problems when users intended to scroll the panel but instead accidentally changed values if the pointer was over a field.

I'm not sure why it still works in the Character panel, which could have the same problems.

I use it most in Photo 2. If you enable three finger drag on the Mac trackpad as shown below, then you can get the desired behaviour with 3 finger dragging after the slider has focus (which is then equivalent to clicking on the slider button and and dragging it).

System Settings > Accessibility > Pointer Control > Mouse & Trackpad > Trackpad options ...  > Enable dragging > three finger drag

FYI Capture One has this behaviour with a standard 2 finger scroll, which suggests that it explicitly handles scroll events when a slider button has focus.

In the Paragraph panel, only Leading reacts to two-finger scroll, and only if you first click inside to have focus.

Personally, I find this to be the best method anyway. I prefer when scrolling really only affects actual scrolling of window/panel contents.

Speaking of 3-finger drag, in many fields – e.g. in the Transform panel – you can "scroll" by draging the field label next to the field. But again, for some reason this behavior is not consistent all over the UI.
