nmatsuo Posted October 22, 2023 Posted October 22, 2023 On creating my photobook in Publisher, frequently I wanted to change the frame size while maintaining the white space between each photo. However it seems we have no choice but to make full use of alignment panel and snap features in Publisher. On the other hand, Adobe InDesign has a solution for this case, called GAP tool. Tried it immediately and was amazed at how easy it was to resize, and I can't give it up now. There should be the ability to resize based on the blank space, not the object. I hope you will consider😋 FYI:https://books.google.co.jp/books?id=u0oZBwAAQBAJ&pg=PT49&lpg=PT49&dq="gap+tool"+indesign&source=bl&ots=_li1ZN1Gj7&sig=ACfU3U01v1AdyEAdmOpwE1HCjdYyYm_I8A&hl=ja&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjZhpT0jIqCAxXciFYBHd2bAzA4RhDoAXoECAUQAw#v=onepage&q="gap tool" indesign&f=false Quote
Bit Disappointed Posted October 22, 2023 Posted October 22, 2023  nmatsuo 1 Quote I simply no longer believe that there are any professional graphic designers here. Everything follows suit. Just everything. Â
Rudantu Posted September 6, 2024 Posted September 6, 2024 I'd like to revive this thread.  How should one manage consistent gaps and spacing in Publisher? The grid feature is nice, holding control to see spacing is nice — but I want to quickly grab a gap size and make it 100px for example. A gap tool would be lovely. nmatsuo 1 Quote →MacOS (Latest), M1 Max Mac Studio, Designer
Juhani Posted January 6 Posted January 6 +1 I think a similar feature has been implemented very well in Sketch. They don't have any "gap tool" as such, but they have two simple fields on the Transform panel where you can control the vertical and horizontal gaps of any currently selected items.
