Chaazaam
Hello community, since the update to version 2.2, the dropper no longer works correctly. When you drag & drop to "capture" a color outside the working window, the dropper no longer responds... Before the 2.2 update, I could capture a color anywhere on my screen, even on a second screen. Any ideas? A bug? A new setting somewhere? Thanks in advance! In the Mac preferences, Affinity products are allowed to "film the screen". The Apple Color Selector works normally. I've looked everywhere, without success, and I don't know how to fix this malfunction. Do any of you have any ideas? Bob Terry
I have noticed the same thing: the color picker, when clicked, looks like crosshairs and not the picker. It just doesn’t work.
Chaazaam
Now I'm reassured, on an unofficial French forum I felt a bit lonely because it was only me who seemed to have this problem... Ouf ... Ladies and Gentlemen of Serif, AN IDEA?
Hangman
Hi @Chaazaam and @Bob Terry, This sounds like a bug that's just been logged as AF-504 where the same thing is happening. To date, the issue has been replicated on an M1 Mac running Ventura. Are either of you running on M1 and/or Ventura? And just for clarification have you both set up screen recording for the v2.2 apps in System Settings under Security & Privacy? Bob Terry
I am using Catalina on my iMac. No Affinity product appears in my System Settings/Security and Privacy.

Bob Terry
Correct. My Publisher isn't there. My InDesign is, along with several other apps. And I just tried the color picker...and it is working, at least when I copied a color from a file and used it as a fill for a shape. But why does the color picker go from a "picker" icon to crosshairs?
Hangman
Just for clarification, are you referring to the Colour Picker in the Colour Panel or the Colour Picker tool in the tools panel? Hangman
Ah, okay, that's slightly different, the Colour Picker tool has two modes... Select the Colour Picker Tool. Adjust the settings on the context toolbar. Do one of the following: (For on-page sampling) Click to pick up any colour on the page. (For screen-wide 'magnified' sampling) Drag to select any colour under a magnifier anywhere within or outside the app. Quote Affinity Designer 2.5.5 | Affinity Photo 2.5.5 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.5 Affinity Designer Beta 2.6.0.2861 | Affinity Photo Beta 2.6.0.2861 | Affinity Publisher Beta 2.6.0.2861 MacBook Pro M3 Max, 36 GB Unified Memory, macOS Sonoma 14.6.1, Magic Mouse HP ENVY x360, 8 GB RAM, AMD Ryzen 5 2500U, Windows 10 Home, Logitech Mouse
Bob Terry
Thank you. By the way, when I tried clicking and dragging the color picker over a page, Publisher suddenly appeared in the System Preferences/Security & Privacy. I've now checked it. Hangman
Perfect, thanks for the update, it sounds as though it's now working as expected... Having Publisher checked under System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Screen Recording 'should' allow you to select colours outside the Publisher UI when click-dragging from within the UI to outside the UI... Chaazaam
Hello Hangman.... For my part, I'm on an Intel MAC. MacOs 13 Ventura and MacOs 14 Sonoma since yesterday. In the system preferences, all three applications have the right to film the screen. Everything worked before version 2.2. And, as you said, the color selector is available in two places. In the toolbar on the left of the interface, and on the COLOR panel. When I click on the toolbar, I don't have any particular option, any more than on the selector in the color palette... I'm still at a dead end... NSR
Chaazaam
NSR
