Log into via APh? - Do you mean instead into your "Serif website account" via APh panels or via a Webbrowser?

Welcome to the forums @Dorothy44,

If you're referring to the 'Please try again in a moment' error received when attempting to log in to activate within the Photo 2 app this can sometimes be the result of an app installation method conflict if you have another one of the affinity apps open at the same time. For example, If I install Photo 2 via the MSIX installer package but have installed the other two apps via the .EXE (AKA .MSI) and try and run them all at the same time Photo 2 will refuse to start correctly or bypass the activation screen due to the installation method conflict.

If you're on Windows I would suggest uninstalling all three Affinity programs and then making sure to only install them by just the .MSIX or the .EXE installer method only and then see if the problem persists.

If you're not on Windows/Don't have the other Affinity apps installed, could you confirm if Photo 2 has ever successfully activated and launched on your device? If you could also confirm your Operating system version that would be great.

To confirm, do you have the other two affinity apps (Designer and Publisher) installed and activated/working already on your device and then you're trying to activate Photo 2, or does this happen when you try and launch and activate Photo 2 first? Could you possibly send a screenshot of the downloaded app installer files so I can see which installation method you're using?

Does the error also persist if you were to reboot your PC and then launch Photo 2 only and activate it?

Thanks

When you have that message showing, try right-clicking it and choosing Check Connection.

You're welcome. I have no idea why the Connection Check wouldn't finish; that seems odd.

Perhaps @NathanC will have further ideas.

Hi @Dorothy44,

Apologies on the late reply i've been out of office.

At this point I would suggest uninstalling all three apps and then re-installing only one (E.G Photo 2) and then after installing do a full factory reset of the app by following the below:

  1. Close all Affinity apps
  2. Hold down CTRL and Launch Photo 2 while still holding CTRL
  3. A 'Clear user data' menu will appear, tick all the available boxes on screen (including 'reset account data' at the bottom)
  4. Press 'Clear' at the bottom right hand corner
  5. The app will now launch, try activating again

If this works, you should then hopefully be able to install Designer and Publisher (if you own them) without having to do this again.

If it still fails, could you confirm if the app installer file you're using is an .MSIX file or an .EXE file?

Many thanks
