Cannot update to Version 2.2

I purchased Affinity suite 2, and cannot find a way to update from 2.1 to 2.2. The Affinity support site suggests there should be a "check for updates" option in the applications main menu, but in my versions of Designer and Photo, that is not the case (see screenshot). Any ideas of how to update my applications?

Did you happen to purchase the apps from the macOS App Store? If so, look for the updates in the sidebar tab 'Updates' in the macOS App Store app.

If you purchased the apps directly from Serif you would see a 'Check for Updates' menu item under the 'Affinity Photo 2' heading (see below). I don't believe that's present in the App Store versions as updates for Apps delivered through the App Store are managed by the App Store.

I purchased direct from Serif. And it does not have the update option. Version 1 had been from the Mac App Store. Is there some issue with having the different versions purchased from different stores?

If so, then login into your Serif account there and download the updated v2 apps from there.

No, as they are completely different.

I would suggest you look in the Mac App Store and make sure you don't see that you have purchased Affinity Photo 2 from there. Even though you say you purchased from Serif, with V2 you can download from either Serif or the MAS, and if you managed to download from the MAS it would not have the Check for Updates in the application menu.

I did not purchase V2 from Mac App Store. Only V1. Just now I redownloaded the Apps direct from Serif ("30 day free trials"), which when installed recognize my license and are good to go with "Check for Updates" now in the main menu.

But you could have downloaded V2 from the MAS, as that does not require a purchase, and it would have recognized the license from the Affinity Store.

In any case, it seems you have this under control now.
