yonid
Hi, I updated Affinity designer yesterday to 2.2 and since then, I can't open it. Only run as administrator worked. I tried downgrading to 2.1.1, but now it's stuck on loading data forever, and I can't progress. If I am interrupting it, it won't load at all, and I need to uninstall it and install it again. I also tried to install 2.2 again, and it's the same issue now. Suck on loading data. Please advise. Thank you, Yoni Edited September 20, 2023 by yonid
Return
The best option to try first is to reset the programs.(each) Hold down the ctrl button on your keyboard while clicking the program icon or its shortcut. Wait till another menu shows(this may be only shown/found on the taskbar),release the ctrl key and select at least the top 3 items of this menu and press clear. This will also clear all your own personal settings like brushes/assets/presets etc. (Just one minor sidenote to you is what your showing, you address this as a problem with affinity photo but you showed the splash screen for designer.) stokerg
Staff stokerg Posted September 20, 2023 Staff Share Posted September 20, 2023 Hi @yonidand Welcome to the Forums, Did the advice from @Returnget you back into Affinity? If it didn't, could you check and see if you have any crash reports? To find them, see here

Now I am stuck at the activation page. I forgot my password, reset it, but still can't activate and continue to designer. Signing in to the website works with the new password. Please advise. Can you try restarting your PC and once restarted, right click on the shortcut for Affinity and select Run As Administrator, are you able to activate the app now? I was able to run it as administrator. But still can't run it by double-clicking it or trying from the taskbar. Still can't activate it. Larry Molineux
I am having the same issue after installing Designer2 V2.2.0.2005, hope they get a fix or suggestion for this proble
yonid
Ok so I am not entirely sure of what I have done but it's working now. I uninstalled all my Affinity apps. I installed them with the MSI installer you can find the downloads and licenses page. I reset everything related to affinity using this guide and lost all my settings and Macros :( I ran photo as admin, and I got an activation screen within the application I entered my credentials and now it's not closing anymore or asking me for activation again. xnjxn
Mark B0ni
I am having this same problem. None of the affinity apps will open on my Windows computer anymore. I open the program, I am prompted to activate my license, I do so, and it tells me "Please try again in a moment." I have tried every single fix outlined in this thread, and I still can no longer use any of these apps on my windows computer, because I run into this exact issue. I tried to download an older version of the app, but apparently, that is not something that Affinity offers. Why does the software I paid for no longer work? How can I download an older version of the software (that I paid for, and legally own) so that I can actually use it? This is unbelievably frustrating. wellChuChu
Also, I am experiencing the same issues. Got upgrade from win10 to win11 and since then, my Affinity Photo V2.2 can't load or start on my PC. Is any fix for it yet? I have already tried to Crtl + app to reset every thing on it but without success, uninstalled and re-install didn't fix either. It just won't open when is requested. ashr
Mark B0ni
Hi @wellChuChu, I finally found a fix to this problem. Here's what I did: 1. Uninstall all affinity apps from computer 2. Navigate to C:/Users/UserName and delete the folder labeled ".affinity" (Might be hidden, not quite sure) 3. Reinstall app(s) 4. Run app as administrator 5. Successfully perform license check Hope that helps you out!
