[AP] Stroke Path with Brush

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

This feature request relates to the following question here.

It is currently a feature in Adobe Photoshop and is very useful. Basically you select a vector path on the artwork and then click the button on the paths palette marked in red in the image below:

This will use the previously selected vector path as a guide to run the currently selected brush along. Much like using the mouse or stylus to draw with the selected brush, this feature treats the path as a guide rail for the brush and allows you to get nice smooth, perfect strokes when required.

It would be great if this feature could be implemented into Affinity Photo.

Thanks,

Emil

Another way to do it is to draw a path, then clone its shape from another segment.

Illustrator XtreamPath plug-in already has a feature called Segment Duplication, another called Parallelization which can do that.

These are priceless for productivity, notably when drawing logo.

A request for tool cloning. The source and destination symbol should be designed so that show two identical symbols (in size and shape).

The important advantage: aligning both symbols for maximum precision and synchronization is much better.
Sample (from excellent Micrografx Picture Publisher) :

bisher: Micrografx Picture Publisher 10, Photoshop 6, Affinity Photo 1, Affinity Photo 2
