GryphonArt Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 Why does Affinity Photo not show the printers marks on a file created as a print ready PDF file in AffinityDesigner? The printer marks, crop marks etc., show if i open the file in Preview. But if I open the file in Affinity Photo the printer marks are not there. Why is that? Sometimes I prefer to send a pdf file from the photo app. Quote
Old Bruce Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 You will need to resize the Canvas in Photo and Designer. An 8 x 10 inch PDF with printer's marks is going to be larger than the 8 inches by 10 inches that is shown when opening in Photo and Designer. In Photo go to Document > Resize Canvas... and in Designer use the Artboard Tool to drag an artboard so it is larger than the open 8 x 10 file. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

They are there (e.g. in the Layers panel) but opened hidden / off the page / outside the canvas size on purpose since they are not relevant content when editing the image. (compare: https://www.prepressure.com/pdf/basics/page-boxes) The easiest way to display the entire content of such an opened PDF is the "Unclip Canvas" menu command.
