diverse Bugs - in Affinity Photo 2.2.2 , Designer 2.1.1

  • Digital Painting: Krita, Sketchbook, Clipstudio, PS (- inkl.

Für Workflows ein no go.

Danke

Locking in the Affinity applications does not work as in other applications. Locking refers only to the ability to click on a layer on the canvas and select it, or transform it (move, resize) using the object handles. It does not prevent editing. Many users have requested a more complete locking function, but it does not exist.

I think this is probably working as intended. The brush history is maintained only for the current session. Thus, if you were to Save the file, Close it, and Open again, you would find the brush history is gone. The "Edit in" functions basically do that: Save, Close, and Open in the other application. And thus this function, too, will lose the brush history.

I'm not sure it does a "Save", as if it did you would be able to recover the document when passing over to another app goes horribly wrong

Another reason brush history may not be passed over is that you may not have the same brushes installed on the other app (E.g. If you do not have synchronisation of brush sets enabled)

First, check in the context toolbar that Blend Mode is set to Normal and Protect Alpha is off

Also check you are using a Basic round brush

I'm pretty sure it does a Save, but to an internal file, and passes that file over to the other application.

Damn, I want to know where, as I may have been able to recover stuff in the past!!!

same brushes installed on the other app

Just tested this(beta) and it doesn't matter if linked or not.
In publisher I created a new category which isn't linked>added brushes from an imported afbrushes file >moved some brushes to the unlinked category>deleted the original linked category.
Painted on a pixellayer>edit in photo and the unlinked category is there with the used brushes.
Saved the file.

Here's the but or bug if you will ,I opened in afdesigner and in the pixelpersona the brush category isn't there.
Opened in afphoto and the category is there.
Opened in afpublisher and the category is there in the photo persona.
Edit in Photo and the category is there.
Edit in Designer and the category in the pixelpersona isn't there.

I think it should bring over those brushes to the pixelpersona in designer too and it should be reflected in the layers panel since the categories can be brought over.

Only Linked categories are available across applications.

Did you open my file?
and was the blah category there?

Brush categories are not saved in .afphoto files, so I'm not sure what you think that file should show.
