Can't get Photo V2 to round trip from apple photos app.

Recommended Posts

Nevermind! I can't get it to work either in AP V2. It opens in AP V2 (if I select the correct "Edit in Affinity Photo" item because there are 3 of them, one for V1, one for V2, & one for the V2 Beta), & I can edit it however I want in AP V2, but once I try to close & save the file back to Apple Photos, I get an 'unexpected error occurred" message in Apple Photos & I have to cancel the edit.

Same problem with the V2 beta.

But with V2, it will only save as an—af file.

I can't save it as an *.afphoto file -- initially "Save" is available but that just sends it back to Apple Photos; & "Save as..." is always greyed out for me, so I'm not sure how you can do that.

OK, I see that if I try to save the file while in AP V2, I get an error saying the file already open in another app (obviously, it is Apple Photos) but that gives me a "Save As" button that does save it as an *.afphoto file ... even though Save As... on the File menu remains greyed out at all times.

Quite buggy, it seems.

I can confirm the following issue is already logged with our developers as a high severity bug - which I'll be sure to 'bump' now with this latest report.

We hope to have this resolved in a future update, our apologies for any inconveniences in the meantime.

Please note -

I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time.

Should you require a response from the team in a thread I have previously replied in - please Create a New Thread and our team will be sure to reply as soon as possible.

Many thanks!
