Inconsistent checkbox behaviour in Develop Persona

Expanding e.g. Exposure on the Basic tab makes the checkbox ticked. Collapsing makes it unticked and removes the setting.

Same behaviour in Details and Tones, but not in Lens. Here expanding and collapsing has no impact on the state of the checkbox. Any good reason to remove settings while collapsing the items? This irritates me.
