I need some help.

I do aerial photos of businesses. In many cases the roofs are awful looking. In the past I have been able to mark out the perrimeter of the roof and make it a layer so that when I use the clone stamp the perrimeter stops the stamp making for a very quick repair (no fine cutting). For some reason I can no longer do that. Did the app change something or am I just getting stupid?

It sounds like you just need to make a selection of the roof in question. What happens when you try this? If possible could you provide a screen recording demonstrating your workflow?

Thanks

Callum,

Thanks for your reply.

I can select the roof using the pen tool very quickly but can't make it do anything. If I go into the selections persona there's no tool that's equivalent to the pen tool to use for the cutout. There's got to be something stupid that I'm missing because I used to do this all the time.

I appreciate your help.

Try this: don't use the Pen Tool. Instead, switch to the Selections Persona and choose the Freehand Selection Tool (lasso), then in the Context Bar, for Type, choose Polygonal or Magnetic.

Also, could you show us the Layers studio, please.
