  1. Thank you Walt... That was it. I really appreciate the help.
  2. Callum, Thanks for your reply. I can select the roof using the pen tool very quickly but can't make it do anything. If I go into the selections persona there's no tool that's equivalent to the pen tool to use for the cutout. There's got to be something stupid that I'm missing because I used to do this all the time. I appreciate your help. RPReplay_Final1691449993.mp4
  3. I need some help. I do aerial photos of businesses. In many cases the roofs are awful looking. In the past I have been able to mark out the perrimeter of the roof and make it a layer so that when I use the clone stamp the perrimeter stops the stamp making for a very quick repair (no fine cutting). For some reason I can no longer do that. Did the app change something or am I just getting stupid?
  4. Hi, I need to turn a company logo into a png file (remove background). When I select the background to remove it I can't figure out how to also select some of the interior portions. ( Like the center portions of letters).I know this must be a very easy thing but I sure can find it. Could someone help me with his?
  5. When I used photoshop I could create a new layer and draw a box so that I could clone up to a straight edge and use it as a barrier to stop the clone stamp...(For instance if I am cloning a lawn and need the cloning to stop at the driveway edge). I'm sure it would be possible to do this using affinity on my IPad but can't figure out the process. Could anyone help me with this?
  6. I need some help please. ‘There’s a type of photo I do that requires me to insert a photo on top of another photo. ‘I do it in Photoshop and need to convert the workflow to affinity on iPad. ‘’I’ve figured out how to do everything but how to bring the top picture in as an oval. I’m sure it’s probably a simple thing but I’m just not getting it. ‘I’ll attach a sample of what I need to do. ‘I’d really appreciate some help. Randy
  7. Once I’ve got what I need (the pool filled with water from the second layer)....how do I get rid of layer two (leaving it’s water on the background layer)?
  8. You have almost got me going. I already got the second image up as a layer and was able to clone in the water from the second image. I couldn't make that second image go away though without loosing the pool water. I bet the smart selection brush tool is the answer and I'll try and find it. Thank you.
  9. I do aerial photo's and when I shoot a motel with an empty pool I'm able to clone water from another image to fill the pool. I have done this in the past using Photoshop on my laptop. I want to be able to do it using Affinity on my ipad pro. Can anyone help me with this?
  10. Well after posting the request I discovered a workaround. If I change it to pixels instead of inches it works correctly. For some reason the program lost the ability to recognize the decimal point in 8.5. I will hold on the question for now and see if it gives me more trouble when I work with it today. If I start whining again this evening please help.
  11. Can anyone help me with resizing problems? When I try to resize my photo to 8.5 X 11 it keeps defaulting to 8 X 11. The first time it did this I fought it for a while and finally gave up and hit print anyway. The photo printed at 8.5 X 11 even though the screen said it was 8X11. Now its the same problem but when I printI’m gettin an8 X11 print. Affinity on iPad Pro 12.9. Very-frustrating
  12. I have Affinity running on two separate iPad pros. All of a sudden one of them is giving me a blank black screen with the heading ‘Photos” on top-when I ask it to “Import from Photos” Can any one explain what the heck is going on???
  13. Supposedly the Canon is airprint compatible. I'll have to try with Photo's to answer your question. Part of my problem is that I need to print in 13 X 19 at 300 dpi. Almost all of my work could can be reworked to the point I need them in Photo's just fine but I can't find a way to get them resized for printing so I didn't try printing from there. I was told by someone else to export the images from Affinity and print them from a printer app. When I try to open a file that has been reworked in Affinity (In the Canon App) is doesn't see them. A lot of my problems are that I know next to nothing about Ipad and I'm having a lot of trouble dealing with files (and Albums?) and much of my problem stems from that.
  14. I'm using Affinity on an Ipad pro. Very impressed with the program. Except.... When I try to print to my Canon Pro 100 it gets stuck. The command goes to the printer (seemingly ok), the printer advances the paper. Then nothing. I eventually get a pop up that says to check the printer for errors. The printer is flashing 11 times (paper size error). I assume the printer wants some information from Affinity as to what size paper to use. Affinity gives me nothing to address this. I read another post that talked about Affinity not addressing size and dpi I the same way that Photoshop does. Is that part of the problem? Can anyone tell me hoe to make it work?
