nomi02118
As I have been having problems with the blur brush on iPad it reminded me of a major reason I use Krita for drawing and painting - the blend brushes. They have multiple types and it really gives a goos transition between colours and shades. Are there any plans for this in Affinity? It would sort of be a mix of the judge, blur and paint mixing brushes.
Dan C
Hi @nomi02118, Apologies for the delayed response here, as it appears as though this was originally posted in the beta section of the forums and has since been transferred to the correct location. Are you able to provide an example or demonstration of what you're hoping to achieve in Affinity, so I can better understand your desired workflow? Many thanks in advance
nomi02118
Hello Dan This the all I can think for now to show what I mean. This a screen shot using krita blend brushes and then affinity alternatives. The smudge and paint mixer tools in Affinity are on the way there but push pixels around rather than blending them more smoothly. They have a larger range of strength so you can do a really strong or light blend depending on what you need. I must have at least 20 kinds of natural media looking blending options to choose from and I would love to see something like this in Affinity. It is really good when working in grass scale, for example, when blending tones for skin. When I worked in real charcoal or pencils I used blending stumps a lot to get the effects wanted and these Krita tools are very close to that. If you think of anything that I can do to make this clearer I'll try and do it! Dan C and Ronbo
Dan C
Many thanks for providing that for me, I certainly understand! Unfortunately I'm not aware of any tools in Affinity that will allow you to achieve this currently, therefore I'll be sure to move this thread to the Feedback section of our forums now, to be seen by our team and considered for implementation/improvement in a future update. I hope this helps
nomi02118
Thanks Dan, it was feedback like this that helped me decide to switch completely to affinity from Adobe. Affinity is much more driven by what users need and the software is better for it.
