Drag and Drop from Assets to object

"Search from the panel in to an object" doesn't make sense to me, and feels like two actions were mixed together with some words dropped.

Are you wanting to search within the panel, or to drag from the panel into an object?

In any case, in V2 I think both are possible:

1. You can search for Assets in the Assets panel.

2.At least in 2.2 beta) not sure when it was introduced) you can drag an Asset onto the Fill well on the Context Toolbar when you have an object selected.

So the fill tool is key in this process. @Return how did you learn about this bitmap fill-tap on the image in the stock panel to display inside the selected object? I think this is great but is it documented?

That's exactly the same as with assets and also as Walt said:

No. The dragging/dropping to a Fill well in the Context Toolbar, Color panel, or Swatches panel (and perhaps others) does not require the Fill tool.

It's documented. For what I've showed, https://affinity.help/designer2/en-US.lproj/pages/Clr/gradientEditor.html  where we can see:

image.png.56d38836efcef9987708595bfe96c913.png

There's also a new function in 2.1, the Vector Flood Fill Tool: https://affinity.help/designer2/en-US.lproj/pages/Introduction/keyFeatures.html?list=allFeatures which tells us:

image.png.08b19ad05da83b77eee13871f990a184.png

The Vector Flood Fill Tool description tells us:

So there are several possibilities.
